Chef Dean Fearing Writes About Fearing’s Restaurant’s 3rd Anniversary Party
In the old days, the hotel restaurant was a very exclusive fine-dining restaurant. I like to think I changed that with Fearing’s. It’s been almost three years since I left my 20-plus year post at The Mansion at Turtle Creek to open a restaurant of my own. Fearing’s opened in The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas in 2007 to great success, earning Esquire Magazine’s “Restaurant of the Year” and “Table of the Year” awards. We are not that quiet, tuxedo-clad restaurant that used to be at hotels, but we are an award-winning restaurant. All of our appointments are beautiful, but it’s an atmosphere with no rules, no dress code – you eat the way you want.
I invite you to join me at Fearing’ as we celebrate our Third Anniversary with an exclusive, fun culinary event on Sept. 3. My good buddies (and talented chefs) are preparing a meal fit for kings. I promise, you won’t want to miss this.
Festivities kick off at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail hour at The Live Oak Bar where you can mix and mingle with visiting celebrity chefs while you enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres. At 7:00 p.m., prepare your taste buds for a culinary delight as Robert Del Grande of RDG, Norman Van Aken of Norman’s and Norman’s 180 and Richard Reddington of REDD take over Fearing’s kitchen for the evening. Our friend Randy Lewis of Lewis Cellars will also present select wine pairings.
We will cap the night in The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom with dessert by Fearing’s Jill Bates followed by live music. Chefs don’t just know how to cook – we know how to party. Please join us for a dessert performance by yours truly along with my all-chef alt-country band, The Barbwires.
Tickets to this exclusive event are available for $300 per person. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Friends of the Fisherman, a Gulf Coast Charity. I was lucky enough to travel down to Louisiana last month to see first-hand how they have been affected by BP’s oil spill. The industry is hurting and they need our support.
To make your reservation to join me in this celebration, contact Vanessa Guevara at 214.922.4817. I am so grateful to Dallas diners for their support over the last three years. You have made this the best time of my life.
