Wild Salsa and Urban Wok: Two New Restaurants Under Construction in Downtown Dallas
, a new tequila bar and yupscale Mexican concept called Wild Salsa is under construction in the Elements building on Main Street in downtown Dallas, across from Dallas Chop House.
DRG Concepts, the restaurant company owned by Mike Hoque and for which controversial chef John Tesar serves as culinary director, is behind Wild Salsa and an adjoining, smaller Asian concept called Urban Wok. Both Wild Salsa and Urban Wok will share a central kitchen that divides the two restaurants.
The concepts are both still being fleshed out, so no specific menu items or chef have been named. Like Dallas Chop House, which is also owned by DRG Concepts, Wild Salsa will have a spacious outdoor patio. In addition to Dallas Chop House, DRG Conccepts owns Dallas Fish Market (also on Main Street) and recently closed Go Fish, the North Dallas restaurant that featured TV’s Top Chef contestant, Tiffany Derry.
Wild Salsa and Urban Wok are expected to open this spring. Construction on both restaurants is well under way.
Also in the pipeline: a burger concept, tentatively called Chophouse Burger, which will occupy a space near Dallas Chop House.
