Chef John Tesar Filming New Reality TV Show
Hot on the heels of (re)opening his haute boîte resto-in-a-resto One Art, chef/owner/cover boy John Tesar is already restless.
“I’m doing another reality show,” Tesar told me last weekend. A local production company has already shot the teaser, which Tesar and “a national producer” have been shopping to a few big cable networks, including the Food Network and the Travel Channel.
The premise is very Flipping Out, very Rachel Zoe Project: a behind-the-scenes look at a restaurant (the Commissary) and the people who inhabit the day-to-day lives of the staff. In addition to Tesar, the cast of characters is set to include sommeliers DLynne Proctor and Scott Barber. (DLynne is a contributor to the Hatch.)
Tesar says tv producers love Dallas and love conflict, two areas in which Tesar has made a mark.
“Of course, there has to be conflict, because evert good show needs an arc,” says Tesar.
Let the games begin.
