Hot Date: Friday, October 26 is officially Chicken Fried Steak Day in Texas

I don’t know how I missed this, but last year PR pro Jeffrey Yarbrough, a seventh-generation Texan, successfully lobbied the Texas Legislature to have October 26 officially recognized as Texas Chicken Fried Steak Day.

I think John Franke's CFS is the best in Texas

My favorite CFS comes from the Ranch at Las Colinas, where chefs Grant Morgan and John Franke massage a hunk of cube steak with seasoned flour, stretching it to a flat disk that leaves the flavor no where to hide.
