Chefs for Farmers, the annual celebration of chefs, farmers, local purveyors and food fanatics, picks up November 3 right where it left off: in Lee Park, in Uptown Dallas. Last year’s outdoor event drew more than 1,ooo people and high profile chefs like Dean Fearing and Kent Rathbun,Tre Wilcox, (formerly of Marquee), Eric Dreyer (Fearings), Tiffany Derry (formerly of Private Social), Andre Natera (Village Kitchen), Chad Houser (Cafe Momentum), Janice Provost (Parigi and Cafe Momentum), Jack Perkins (Maple & Motor and Slow Bone), Jeff Harris (Bolsa), Justin Fourton (Pecan Lodge BBQ), Matt McCallister  (FT33), Scott Romano (formerly of Charlie Palmer), Jill and Jeff Bergus (Lockhart Smokehouse) and San Antonio chefs David Gilbert (Sustenio) and Jason Dady (Bin 555).

Chefs for Farmers key organizer Iris McCallister says she expects about 40 chefs to participate, each handing out samples of his or her best dishes. It’s a terrific, family friendly atmosphere, with soft drinks for the kids, hard drinks for the rest of us, and live music for all of us.

To attend, you have to buy a ticket in advance. Today only, tickets are on sale for just fifty bucks. Yep, $50. Go here, enter the discount code “cocktologist” (hey, I didn’t choose it), and save a few bucks.

CFF is a not-for-profit organization. All the profits go to the North Texas Food Bank and Café Momentum.

Come join me at and the rest of the Hatch crew at CFF this year.
