Best meal deal in town this month? Nick & Sam’s “Sunday Supper” on November 24
Taylor Kearney and Samir Dhurandhar, the top chefs at Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse in Dallas are hosting their monthly Sunday Supper at the steakhouse on November 24. These are the four-course wine dinners held the last Sunday of each month in the private dining room at Nick & Sam’s where 20 people gather at a community table to celebrate the season — and a different chef’s take on creativity. The whole deal — dinner and wines — is just $65. This month, Kearney is riding the range, and I’ll tell you this much: That guy can flat-out cook. (Remember this Omi beef steak sampler?)
Dhurandhar says he’s not out to make money — or even break even — on the dinners. The goal, he told EscapeHatch last month, is to give his chefs a creative outlet and have a little fun. Sometimes it’s four courses, sometimes it’s five, or six or seven. Last month, chef Will Larsen served roasted suckling pig as the main food attraction; a 3-liter bottle of 2005 Charles Krug cabernet set the wine pace…and it got better from there.
Dhurandhar says he has about a dozen seats remaining for the dinner. Yes, you’ll need a reservation. No, you will not be disappointed — or leave hungry. This month, the theme is French and the wines are from Bordeaux.
Ring Nick & Sam’s for a reservation. Dinner starts at 6:30.
