Dallas chef DJ Quintanilla, of Resto Gastro Bistro, makes his TV debut with Alton Brown, Jet Tila this Sunday, August 17 at 9 p.m.
Local chef DJ Quintanilla makes his television debut in a “Superhero Sabotage” this Sunday, August 17, at 9 p.m. on the Food Network.
On the show Cutthroat Kitchen, Quintanilla, the co-owner and chef of Resto Gastro Bistro in Trinity Groves, is trapped in a unreality show saddled with this awful synopsis (which a publicist for the Food Network provided to the Hatch):
“One chef enters a phone booth and attempts to transform into a super chef. Next, two chefs get cozy in Alton’s living room circa 1974, while one chef attempts to ride a bike in the kitchen.”
Well, at least he gets to pal around with Alton Brown and my friend Jet Tila, who wants to challenge you and me and DJ to a pad Thai throw down next month at his Dallas restaurant, Pakpao.
Quintanilla is pretty quiet on whether he progresses to the next show, er, round, but I’m betting he does. His foray into TVFN began last March.
Want in on the fun? Resto Gastro Bistro is hosting a watching party. There’s a chance Jet Tila will pop by, too.
