Primo Brothers offering daily lessons in October on how to hand-toss pizzas; best toss wins a pie

Yes, there’s a day, week, month and year designated to celebrate damn near everything. Since it’s pretty much downhill after International Talk Like a Pirate Day last Friday, all that we have to look forward to is Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve and National Pizza Month (October), which is just a week away.

Celebrating that month in style, Primo Brothers, a 32-year-old Dallas pizzeria, is hosting a dough tossing lesson at 11 a.m. each day, Monday through Saturday.  Whoever tosses the best dough in their class that day wins a free pizza.

The best pizza dough toss will be judged by Primo Brothers owner Luan Vraniqi, a 30-year pizza-making pro shown spinning pies in the photo above.

“A skilled dough toss is key to a great pizza as well as making dough fresh, which we’ve done daily since we opened in 1982.” writes Vraniqi in a note to the Hatch. “If you want to throw dough like a pro learn from a bro.”

Show up by 11 a.m. and tell them you want to toss. Vraniqi says the first five interested guests can participate, and he’ll announce the winner within the hour.
