Another Porchetta Pop-Up! Two porky dinners from Lucia chefs Justin Holt and Mike Gibson headline interesting meals in September

Vegetarians, time to find a loophole. Lucia chefs Justin Holt and Mike Gibson are hosting another super casual porchetta pop-up dinner on September 14. This time, the porky action takes place at The Windmill starting at 6:30 p.m. and ending when the crackly goodness runs out. 5320 Maple Ave, Dallas, (214) 443-7818)

“Twenty dollars gets you a plate of Red Wattle porchetta, sides and a craft cocktail,” says Holt.  If you don’t already know that Red Wattle pigs are a heritage breed with lean, delicious meat, than this event is probably not for you. Holt says Angel’s Envy bourbon, Papas Pilar rum and Fever Tree and are helping sponsor the dinner. Be sure to say hi to Louise and Charlie.

Then, on September 21, the cheffy duo is at it again. This time, the porcine pop-up returns to the Oak Cliff Social Club. “Twenty bucks gets you roasted whole Ossabaw hog and fresh sausage along with sides and a beer.” So heritage is in, bourbon and rum are out, and drinks — from sponsor Pabst this time — will help wash it all down. Same 6:30 p.m. shotgun start. Ends when it’s all gone. 238 West Davis Street, Dallas, (214) 941-0298. Cash only.
