Hot Date: Monthly “Sunday Supper” at Nick & Sam’s is this Sunday, October 26, and it’s the best deal in town

Can’t say enough good things about Nick & Sam’s Sunday Supper, the family-style dinner served at a long table in a back room of the steakhouse on the last Sunday of each month. If you’ve attended, you know that top chef Samir Dhurandhar leaves each of his chefs in charge of the meal on a rotating basis, then let’s them go wild on a theme. This month, it’s sous chef Jaime Rodriguez’s turn, and he’s throwing down a multi-course Mexican dinner. Everything is served in big platters, with wines and beers to match. On tap this month: shrimp and octopus ceviche, red snapper, oyster soup, gorditas, even a big hunk of 12–day dry-aged prime steak that would run you more than a C-note if you were ordering a la carte. Chocoflan is on the dessert list. So are cajeta crepes.

The dinner begins at 7 p.m. And yes, you’ll need a reservation.

Here’s what you missed last month.

And Sunday Supper for November is already in the works, with a Cajun menu from chef Chris Addison.
