Oso Food & Wine to open Thursday, October 30

Just off the phone with Michael Cox, the restaurateur behind Oso Food & Wine, who says he and chef Kelly Hightower will open Oso on Thursday, October for dinner. The restaurant will serve dinner beginning at 5 p.m. nightly, Tuesday through Saturday, with lunch scheduled to begin about two weeks later.

With just 20 tables and a handful of bar seats, Oso is small. That boutique size, says Cox, will better allow Hightower and his team to turn out high quality dishes and deliver excellent service. The menu leans toward the Mediterranean (“all of it, not just Lebanon and Greece,” says Cox).

“It’ll be a modern twist on foods that are familiar” but there’s no plan to “impose an agenda on the menu or the style of cooking.”
