Cinco Tacos to expand, open in Dallas Preston Hollow Village
Addison’s Cinco Tacos Cocina and Tequila will open a second area restaurant this year – in Dallas’ Preston Hollow Village – a company spokesperson has confirmed to EscapeHatch. The new Cinco is slated to open in early July.
The rebranded and reimagined Mexican restaurant, formerly called La Zaranda Mexican Seafood Grill, is the first U.S. venture of veteran Mexico restaurateurs Mario Letayf and Antonio Marquez. “They signed the lease for the property last week,” confirmed the spokesperson. The Village is home to a Trader Joe’s and a Pakpao Thai.
Cinco’s owners hope the name change helps newcomers and passersby recognize that the restaurant serves tacos and Mexican food. “Lazaranda didn’t mean anything to people who hadn’t yet been here,” a manager told me. “We lowered prices and now emphasize tacos” while staying true to the chefs’ Mexican roots. “We are not a Tex-Mex restaurant,” the spokesperson emphasized. “The recipes are true Mexican foods.”
