Matchbox restaurant opening first Texas location in Dallas
Matchbox Food Group, a 12-year-old restaurant company based in Washington, D.C., is venturing into the Texas market with their flagship Matchbox restaurant, completing construction now in Dallas’ Preston Hollow Village (the same development where we told you Cinco Taco is building). The 350-seat restaurant opens on February 29.
Matchbox hangs its hat on casual, mid-priced foods like burgers, pizzas, salads, sandwiches and beer. The restaurants have large patios, wood-fired ovens and design elements that include reclaimed-barn-wood walls, gas torches, and glass-topped tables displaying vintage matchboxes. The company recently held a job fair to hire employees for the Dallas store. Here’s a link to their menu.
The Dallas restaurant is in the glide path of the company’s aim to grow its chain from 8 to 48 restaurants nationwide in the next four years.
