TV’s Cake Boss opened his Carlo’s Bakery in Dallas today — with lines around the block

Celebrity baker Buddy Valastro expanded his Carlo’s Bakery chain to Texas today, with a ribbon cutting of his full-service custom bakery late this morning. As early as daybreak, crowds gathered outside the new Carlo’s Bakery in Dallas’ Preston Center. Valastro and his “famiglia” were on hand to open the bakery, which is modeled after the original Carlo’s Bake Shop in Hoboken, N.J..

Valastro is the star of the reality television shows “Next Great Baker,” “Buddy’s Bakery Rescue” and “Cake Boss,” which features the original Carlo’s Bakery. The Dallas bakery features a menu of inventive cakes, pastries, and sweets, including from-scratch cannoli and Valastro’s popular “lobster tails” – puff pastries filled with pastry cream and a glug of Baileys Irish Cream.
