Exec chef Jon Thompson exits Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen, Butcher Board


When Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen expands to a second location later this year, they’ll be opening without their chef-partner, Jon Thompson.

Thompson, the talented good-guy chef behind Sugarbacon, and restaurateur Johnny Carros have parted ways, less than a month after the pair launched Butcher Board in a space adjacent to Sugarbacon in McKinney.

Thompson confirmed the departure, adding that he’s developing a new project. “I can’t tell you what I am working on yet, but fun details will be on the way soon.”
