Get ready: Here’s the secret opening date for fancy French restaurant Bullion, from former Mansion chef Bruno Davaillon
<em>CONFIRMED: Bullion will open for dinner on Friday, November 17.
Now that the French Room isn’t quite as French anymore, leave it to a native French chef to bring fancy French cooking back to Dallas.
We’re hearing from well-placed food cognoscenti that former Mansion on Turtle Creek chef Bruno Davaillon will open the doors to his long-awaited Bullion on Thursday, November 16, just in time for the Thanksgiving holidays. The opening date of the downtown restaurant has been a closely guarded secret, and no one answering the phone at Bullion would divulge the opening date.
The fancy French restaurant has been serving friends and family for the past couple of weeks in preparation for opening. Pre-opening standouts already being touted include decadent escargot ravioli, classic duck confit and cod bathed in Meyer lemon jus that one EscapeHatch reader said “made me homesick for Spoon,” the high-end seafood restaurant John Tesar, another former Mansion chef, used to operate in Dallas.
At the Mansion, Davaillon proved he’s an alchemist in the kitchen. Whatever he’s serving will be worth however much gold bullion he’s charging.
I’m betting Bullion will open Thursday. Guess we’ll know soon.
Here’s Bullion’s number: (972) 698-4250.
