The Common Table has opened with uncommonly good food, beer at The Star in Frisco

Rodman Shields may not be a household name whispered around your kitchen table, but there’s a good chance you’ve eaten his food and didn’t realize it. Not only is he a co-owner of The Common Table (with restaurateurs Corey Pond and Mark Hearl), but Shields is often the consulting chef behind restaurant and bar menus throughout Dallas. I’ve eaten his food many times and sing his praises often.
That’s why I’m happy that he and his merry troupe of partners have opened a second branch of their Common Table, at The Star in Frisco, also home to Dallas Cowboys World HQ.
Two-fisted burgers — the kind where the juice drips down your arm– gouda mac and cheese, a chicken fried steak as big as your head (made with a ribyeye steak!) and homemade corny dogs make it easy to sip way too many of the local craft beers The Common Table keeps on tap.
Now that Rodman, Corey and Mark have opened The Common Table in Frisco, there’s exactly zero reasons to eat any any one of the out-of-town chain restaurants that now populate The Star.
