Partly owned by NFL star Drew Brees, Baton Rouge-based Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar set to open this October in Irving

A Cajun restaurant partly owned by NFL QB Drew Brees will open this fall in Irving.

Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar will break ground on their first Dallas-Fort Worth restaurant on March 6 at 3165 Regent Blvd. The Baton Rouge-based restaurant company tapped local franchisees Johnny Qubty and Joshua Allen to operate the 8,500-square-foot restaurant, which is projected to open in October and add 150 new jobs to the local economy.

New Orleans Saints star Drew Brees and his wife, Brittany, became co-owners of Walk-On’s in 2015.

Walk-On’s has 17 locations: four in Baton Rouge, two in New Orleans and one each in Lafayette, Houma, Shreveport, Lake Charles, Covington, Broussard, Alexandria and Bossier City, La., and Lubbock, San Antonio and Tyler, Texas. Other locations are coming soon in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas.
