Don’t miss Okrapalooza 2018 on September 9, as chefs compete to cook (and you taste) the best okra dishes in Dallas

If you’re crazy about okra – or just don’t know what to do with all of it crowding your garden, refrigerator or grocery stores right now – make a stop at Okrapalooza 2018, where Dallas chefs compete to construct the best okra dishes in Dallas. In  addition to pod food, okra finds its way into beverages, costumes and songs. This year, the theme is The Beatles. Who picks the winners? I do (with a cast of other judges). And so do you, with your peoples’ choice votes.

Tickets are on sale now at eventbrite.com for the September 9 event at The Lot, 7530 East Grand Ave. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. $50 with proceeds benefitting the Promise of Peace Garden.
