Zoli’s adds American Regional pizzas to its all-star pie line-up – and Detroit pizzas are on the menu tonight only

The pizza pie magicians at Zoli’s New York Pizza in Addison (Lee Hunzinger and Jeff Bekavac) have introduced a new playbook for their version of Monday Night Football.

Each Monday night beginning this week, Zoli’s will make a special pizza dedicated to that week’s MNF home team. Tonight, that’s a Detroit-style crispy-edged square pie with buttery Wisconsin brick mozzarella cheese on the bottom, sausage and pepperoni above that, sauce on top and deliciousness all the way through. Also, $5 draft cocktails, $5 house wines and $3 Miller Lites from 5 PM – 10 PM every Monday.

The pizza duo made me a preview pie last week and wow, their Detroit version is a winner. Don’t want anything to do with Detroit? That’s okay. Bekavac has turned up the Zoli’s menu to 11 by adding a new chopped salad, a double-patty cheeseburger, a fantastic roasted corn carbonara pasta, a porchetta-spiced roast chicken as good as Zuni Cafe’s version, and a chocolate pudding budino that will make your eyes roll back into your head.
