Dallas’ fancy-shmancy but super chill fine-dining restaurant Flora Street has a new chef in the kitchen.

Cody Sharp, now formerly of Wheelhouse (and Zoli’s prior to that), has joined Evan Pemberton as co-chef of Stephan Pyles’ Flora Street Cafe. Pyles and Sharp confirmed the news with us today. (The staff were deep in the throws of preparing a high-brow dinner at the Winspear Opera House and unable to comment further.)

Congrats to the team; Sharp will be a solid addition to the kitchen, and he knows how to use tweezers.

Pyles has always been a gracious and generous mentor to up-and-coming chefs. With the addition of Sharp to the SP roster, Pyles brings a third generation acolyte into his kitchen – first with Matt McCallister, who led the Stephan Pyles Restaurant kitchen many years ago before leaving to eventually open FT33 and Filament (both closed). McCallister tapped Sharp to lead the Filament kitchen as its opening chef. Though Sharp eventually moved on, he’s now sort of completing that whole young jedi/jedi knight/jedi master thing.

Hakuna Matata!

And try not to read too much into Sharp’s penchant for wearing black…
