Uchi Finally Inks Deal to Open in Dallas

Looks like the fish sauce has been spilled: According to a Tweet (and subsequent press release) from Uchi, Tyson Cole is opening a branch of his wildly successful Uchi restaurant in Dallas, but it’ll take him about a year to rehab Uchi’s new digs: 2817 Maple Avenue at Randall Street, in Uptown.

This Uchi will be the empire’s third:  the original opened in Austin and a second branch debuted earlier this year in Houston. The three join Uchiko, also in Austin, under Cole’s restaurant umbrella.

But wait; there’s more high profile raw fish and Asian fusion heading to town. The same person who tipped me to Uchi-Dallas a few days ago (and swore me to temporary secrecy) says there’s a famous SoCal chef coming our way, and this one’s packing some major talent.
