Prohibition Chicken to open next week, clucking with family style dinners, prohibition cocktails, secret speakeasy

More fried chicken served family style is headed to DFW. Kenichi owner Josh Babb and business partners Sean Clavir and chef Roger Kaplan are set to open Prohibition Chicken next Tuesday, April 25. The Lewisville restaurant is their ode to family suppers, fried chicken, strong cocktails (because, you know, it’s supper with your family) and live music on the weekends. “Our motto is ‘come for the poultry, stay for the party,’” says Babb in an email.

Kaplan plans to pull hot biscuits from a stone oven. The cluckers (served fried, pecan-smoked, or smoked-then-fried like The Ranch at Las Colinas does it ) are all locally raised, but you can also choose fish or beef for your family-style meal (the price is the same). A prohibition-style speakeasy– serving food plus more than 40 whiskeys — is tucked in the back, accessed via an unmarked phone booth door.

Babb and Clavir also plan to open other restaurants, including Musume in the Dallas Arts District, later this year.
