We got a sneak peek of The Keeper, the new Pacific Rim seafood spot opening MONDAY at The Shops at Legacy. The restaurant comes from Front Burner Restaurants, the Dallas-based braintrust behind The Ranch at Las Colinas, Velvet Taco Dallas, Whiskey Cake Kitchen, Mexican Sugar, and Sixty Vines. Looks like they've hooked another winner with The Keeper.
Hawaiian opah, wild salmon, whole sea bream, even sable fish star on a menu loaded with big, bold flavors amplified by pan-Asian ingredients. It's east meets west with stops in Hawaii, Thailand, Veitnam and the Pacific Northwest– plus tiki drinks and a cool design with lots of fun touches.
Here's the opening menu, which director of operations Judd Fruia says will evolve as the seasons change and different fish become abundant. And if you're into progressive dinners, you can cross the street for after-dinner drinks at Mexican Sugar when you finish up at the Keeper (be sure to snap a photo under the "She/He's a Keeper" sign on the The Keeper's exterior wall (pictured above) — flip a switch to go from He to She.
