Eat Tim Byres BBQ, drink Lakewood Brewing beers at this Saturday, May 19 FUNdraiser for Wind Rose Academy for special needs kids
Lakewood Brewing, RVC Promotions and chef Tim Byers (Smoke restaurant) are partnering on a “BBQ & Brews” fundraiser this Saturday evening, May 19, to raise money for Wind Rose Academy, a special-needs school opening this fall.
If you like eating well, drinking beer and doing good, this $50 fundraiser for Wind Rose Academy has your name all over it. The event kicks off at 6 pm at Lakewood Brewing Company, 2302 Executive Drive in Garland.
Brenda Busch, VP and co-owner of Lakewood Brewing Company, sits on the board for the new, nonprofit school; she and her husband, Wim Bens, have a personal stake in the school’s success.
“Our son has benefitted tremendously with the therapy he’s received from the school’s founder and her team over the last two years at Concept Connections, a private therapy center,” Brenda writes on the fundraiser website. “I know our son will blossom at Wind Rose, and I am passionate about bringing that help to other families who need it as well. It’s very fulfilling for me to be involved in helping make this school a reality.”
