Chef behind Smoke and Chicken Scratch clucks about Tight Quarters, a new QSR he’s opening in Legacy Hall

Tim Byres, the founding chef of Smoke and Chicken Scratch, is getting healthy – and he wants to drag the rest of us with him into Tight Quarters.

“A good life is about making better choices if it looks and feels good, and not holding yourself back with a rigid diet,” Byres says in announcing Tight Quarters, his new good-for-you QSR concept opening Monday, June 29 at Legacy Hall in Plano. “Eat better, act natural, be alive,” he says, which sounds like it could be Tight Quarters’ new tag line.

Relying on natural ingredients and flavorful recipes, Byres’ health-focused big bowls sound pretty swell. The menu is packed with dishes like poached eggs with cauliflower-cashew grits, charred shallots, pickled celery, lemon and kale for just $11. And quinoa and beef salad spiced with chile-citrus mojo for $12, or wild salmon with zucchini noodles with garlic oil, crispy garlic and lime for $12.50.

Tight Quarters is located on the first floor of Legacy Hall between Bavazo Peruvian Rotisserie and Blist’r Naan Wraps.
