Driftwood, new seafood-centric restaurant, opens April 17, but really it’s April 10
Driftwood, the new, seafood-centric Oak Cliff restaurant from manager-turned-restaurateur John Baudoin, is set to officially open on Tuesday,April 17, but the restaurant will open for business on Tuesday, April 10, EscapeHatch has learned. (New restaurants frequently –and wisely–open “quietly” before their announced opening date so that their service staff and kitchen crew aren’t overwhelmed with a busy dining room the first few days of business.)
Driftwood’s menu relies heavily on sustainable seafood. As we told you back in November, the chef is Omar Flores, formerly the chef at Abacus. Lord knows, Dallas needs a great seafood restaurant; maybe this will be it.
Driftwood will serve dinner only, Tuesdays through Saturdays.
Driftwood is located at 642 W. Davis St., next door to Bolsa Mercado.
