Foursquare Thinks the Best BBQ Restaurant in Dallas is Smoke, Which Isn’t Even a BBQ Restaurant

Those kooky wonks at Foursquare sent me their Best of Dallas rankings, imploring me to publicize their guide. “Good news,” their people wrote, “finally, there is a ‘best of’ Dallas guide based on where people actually go! Foursquare has crunched more than 3 billion check-ins and tens of millions of tips to create ‘best of’ guides for cities across the U.S. based on insights from the millions of people who actually were there.”

Hmmmm. I hate this list. The best burgers in Dallas are definitely not found at Hunky’s (they’re at Whiskey Cake, Off-Site Kitchen, Capital Grille and, on a good day, Maple & Motor). And Velvet Taco would never call themselves a Mexican restaurant.
