New Restaurants Under Construction in Dallas

If you’re a fan of Primebar,  Townhouse or Tex-Mex (or even restaurants in Dallas), then you’ll probably love this:

Restaurants America, the parent company for both, has two (and maybe three) new concepts under veiled construction in Dallas. Boca Chica, a small plates/tapas place with an outdoor balcony, will open this summer at the Shops at Park Lane, on the third level of the development that shares a parking lot with Whole Foods Market. They must have gotten a sweet deal, because RA is nearing completion on Park Tavern, which we told you about in December, in the same shopping center.

Meanwhile, RA wants to build yet another new concept …and they’re sniffing in the Design District, an area that’s about to get a whole lot busier.

And while the rest of Dallas fights over whether we need another steakhouse or two, the best steakhouse in all of Texas has decided  (at least for now) that we don’t. (Apparently, one Wine Spectator Grand Award winning steakhouse is enough for this city); the shell of the former Smith and Wollensky steakhouse on the Dallas North Tollway is to become a Pappasito’s Cantina.

(I know, you probably hoped it was to be a Cheesecake Factory.)
