Whiskey Cake hosting special whiskey and cake dinner tonight

Heaven Hill Distilleries, makers of Bernheim Original whiskey and Elijah Craig Scotch whiskey (that’s whiskey with an “e”), will be pouring more than a wee dram of their aged spirits at a bourbon dinner at Whiskey Cake (also with an “e”) Kitchen, in Plano, on April 9.

The dinner starts at 6:30 pm, which is about the time I’m thinking whiskey anyway. $65, but you need a reservation (972-992-CAKE).

WCK’s event menu looks pretty solid:

Starter: (Evan Williams single barrel whiskey)

Braised wild boar with fontina ravioli and butternut squash puree

Grilled lamb porterhouse with purple potatoes, sundried tomato chimichuri

(Elijah Craig 12 year old, Parker 4th Edition wheated whiskey on the rocks)

Burnt orange glazed duck breast with crispy polenta cake and chocolate vinaigrette

Spiced hazelnut cake with honey ice cream
