Pie 3.14, new Castle Hills restaurant, to quietly open tonight. Here’s the menu.


Sean Connor, the barman-turned-restaurateur, says he’ll open his new Pie 3.14 pizza and beer joint in the golf neighborhood of Castle Hills tonight, then hope people trickle in slowly. With 3.14, Connor, the mixmster who infused Whiskey Cake and Mexican Sugar with some of the tastiest craft cocktails in the city, is stepping out on his first solo venture, albeit backed by a few hefty local wallets.

Big patio, kid-friendly dining room, good pies, cold local beers, pizza delivery by golf cart. This place has great potential. To avoid overwhelming a kitchen and staff in training, seating will be limited for the first few days.

The menu ranges from meatballs to mussels to hand-tossed pies, plus something called “the best cheesecake you ever had,” which may be an accurate description considering that Connor, a former star at Fireside Pies, probably knows the secret recipe to their awesome cheesecake and might have improved on it.
