Top Pot Doughnuts’ coffee roaster is in Dallas, teaching public seminar, tasting tonight; new stores in works for CityLine and SkyHouse

Seattle-based Top Pot Doughnuts makes at least two things exceptionally well: doughnuts and coffee. The guy responsible for Top Pot’s excellent java, Tony Burlison, is in Dallas today, and he’ll be leading an informal seminar on the company’s blended and single origin coffees at the Dallas Hillcrest Top Pot Doughnuts this evening beginning at 7:30 pm. Top Pot co-founder Mark Klebeck, who taught me how to make doughnuts last year, says Burlison will also be sampling a variety of Top Pot’s new single origin coffee selections and coffee blends, plus plenty of free doughnuts.

Top Pot is expanding in DFW; Klebeck says their second area store will open on Greenville Avenue late this week or early next week, with a Top Pot planned for CityLine in Richardson this summer and a SkyHouse store slated to open later this year.
