Chef John Tesar headed to Brazil to cook Picanha for 2000 people this weekend

Where’s Waldo?

Chef John Tesar is taking a break from cooking, opening restaurants, filming a reality TV and his celebrity chef thing this week. Well, maybe not celebrity chef thing.

This weekend, Tesar is an invited guest chef at an annual grilling-and-chilling food festival in Brazil called Churrascada.  Tesar won’t be lounging, though; he’ll be cooking picanha, the Brazilian grilled and skewered steak specialty, for nearly 2000 people.

Why include a Texas steakhouse chef as one of the 10 chefs at a Brazilian cook-out?

“They wanted a great steak,” Tesar told me.
