Hatch Exclusive: Cody Sharp will be top chef of Matt McCallister’s Filament restaurant

FT33 chef/owner Matt McCallister has confirmed that super talented chef Cody Sharp will leave his top chef post at The Standard Pour to lead the kitchen at Filament, McCallister’s new Southern-inflected restaurant under construction in Deep Ellum. 

McCallister and Sharp have been traipsing across the South and wide swaths of the U.S., researching menus and restaurants for Filament, which is scheduled to open this fall, likely around the end of October. I’m crazy about Sharp’s cooking, whether at The Standard Pour or during his previous gig at Casa Rubia, where he served as Omar Flores’ sous chef. I’d rank Sharp among the five top young chefs in the city.

Maggie Huff will run double duty as pastry queen of both Filament and FT33, McCallister’s original Design District restaurant.
