Chefs Andre Natera, Omar Flores among six chefs cooking crazy good fundraiser dinner September 6


Andre Natera and Omar Flores are teaming with four other Texas chefs to host a six-course dinner to raise money for culinary scholarships and the Bocuse d’Or global culinary competition. The menu for the September 6 dinner at Barton Creek Resort in Austin includes dishes like Emmer and Rye chef Kevin Fink’s creamer white Sonoran pea agnolotti with curry leaf emulsion and Casa Rubia chef Omar Flores’ milk poached heritage pork collar with corn pudding, Carolina gold middling and jalapeno.

Proceeds benefit the ment’or BKB Foundation, a nonprofit that aims to inspire excellence in young culinary professionals and preserve the traditions and quality of cuisine in America. Ment’or is led by Founders Chefs Daniel Boulud, Thomas Keller and Jérôme Bocuse, plus a Culinary Council of over forty renowned chefs. Educational grants and internships are offered to culinary professionals through the Continuing Education Program.

The chef lineup for the dinner includes André Natera (Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa, Austin), Kevin Fink (Emmer and Rye, Austin), Omar Flores (Casa Rubia, Dallas), Diego Galacia (Mixtili, San Antonio),Julio Peraza (Omni Hotels & Resorts) and Andrew Wiseheart (Chicon and Contigo, Austin).
