Two Dallas area Oktoberfest celebrations offer plenty to prost
Addison throws its annual Oktoberfest from September 15-18, where you can get your fill 0f bratwurst, smoked pork, sauerkraut and the same Paulaner bier served at the Munich Oktoberfest. Also potato pancakes topped with Kobe beef bacon. And Alaskan reindeer bratwursts. Not up for Reindeer? There will also be pheasant, wild boar and elk, bacon-spiked lemonade, and German crème puffs. Village Green at Watters Creek will host their inaugural Oktoberfest, Craft Beer Festival, on Friday, September 9, and Saturday, September 10, beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday. Area craft breweries and art vendors will be set up on Village Green Drive, which will be open to pedestrian traffic only during Oktoberfest. Participating breweries include Deep Ellum, Lakewood, Tupps, Sam Adams, Franconia, and Community. The traditional Oktoberfest keg tapping will take place Friday evening. There will be live music all weekend at Watters Creek. Several Watters Creek restaurants will be participating in Oktoberfest with food and drink specials.
