Big Napa wine dinner Wednesday night features Vineyard 36 wines, NHL players Cam Ward, Tim Gleason

NHL stars Cam Ward and Tim Gleason share another passion other than hockey: big Napa wines. Together with their friend Jason Earnest, the three founded and own Napa’s Vineyard 36. All three guys will be skating through Dallas Wednesday night, cases of Vineyard 36 wines in tow.
Vineyard 36’s wines are hard to find, pricey and really good, an opinion backed up by the tack-sharp somm Scott Barber (formerly of Dallas but now of Napa), who will also be on hand and knows the wines well.
“We’re going to be hosting a wine dinner at Ocean Prime in Uptown Dallas on Wednesday, June 17th, and all three owners will be at the dinner.” Barber told the Hatch.
The four-course dinner will feature Vineyard 36’s two red blends (called Crosscheck and Unmask, of course) and two vintages of the flagship Vineyard 36 cabernet sauvignon, plus a couple of surprises from a prize-worthy wine cellar.  $80++.
Yep, you’ll need a reservation.
