Ruth’s Chris Uptown launches new Thursday “Sizzle, Swizzle, Swirl” happy hour that’s one of the best prime deals in town

Ruth’s Chris Uptown’s blackened, seared ahi tuna is just $9 in the bar on Thursdays

A big plate of these spicy, crisp-fried shrimp are also just $9 at Ruth’s Chris Uptown’s bar on Thursday nights.

It’s tough to excel as both a restaurant bar and a bar in a restaurant, but Ruth’s Chris Uptown manages to walk the line without loosing its balance.

And each Thursday from 4:30 p.m. until the restaurant closes, Ruth’s Chris Uptown pulls that line even tauter with a new killer happy hour promo called “$9 Sizzle, Swizzle, Swirl.”

The deal lets you choose from a solid selection of bottled wines for half price –good stuff like Sonoma Cutrer chardonnay for $34, The Prisoner for $48 and pinot Kryptonite, Belle Glos Meomi pinot noir, for just $32.

If you’re into mingling, scope out a stool along the horseshoe of the bar and order a classic Manhattan, not because theirs is fancy but because it’s made the way you expect it to be made: two-fingers of good whiskey, bitters, sweet vermouth.

If you’re working a deal or avoiding work, slip into one of the high-backed booths, sip a gin basil smash, and hang out until the live music wraps up around dinner time.  Like that Manhattan and more than a dozen other well-made cocktails, beers and by-the-glass wines, the gin basil smash is just $9 on Thursdays beginning at 4:30 p.m. and ending when Alan Schulz, Ruth’s Chris affable GM, turns off the lights.

And because Ruth’s Chris Uptown is also a prime steakhouse, you’re gonna want to nibble something good while you swizzle. Crab BLTs with zucchini fries, beef tenderloin sandwiches and honey-basted tenderloin kebabs, seared ahi tuna sushi, spicy shrimp and two-fisted prime beef burgers are also just $9 in the bar on Thursdays beginning at 4:30 p.m.

This Ruth’s Chris promotion is one of the best prime deals we’ve seen in town. Schulz and his team invited the EscapeHatch crew in to check out the Thursday “Sip, Sizzle and Swirl” happy hour as their guests. We left happy. You will, too.
