Sharon Hage, Adam West, Graham Dodds and Mark Wooten hosting a Farmers Market dinner on June 12
How about a F2T dinner cooked by four of Dallas’ staunchest F2T supporters: chefs Graham Dodds (Hibiscus), Sharon Hage (SHage Consulting), Adam West (The Porch) and Mark Wootton (Garden Café)?
Those four chefs are throwing down a pretty sweet meal to benefit of a caucus supporting Texas farmers, ranchers, chefs and diners. Called the Farm-to-Table Caucus, the group is hosting a June 12 fundraiser grazer designed to make an impact with Texas legislators.
The Texas Farm-to-Table Caucus Tour opens in Dallas with a special fundraising dinner at the Farmers Market in downtown Dallas on Thursday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m. You get to eat while helping a good cause. The best part is the menu:
The $100 per ticket event aims to build awareness and raise funds, bringing together farmers, members of the caucus, Dallas residents, and local food influencers to raise money in support of Legislative education on local food issues. Tickets are now available at www.texasfoodcaucus.myevent.com.
At the Dallas Farmers Market the following morning, Friday, June 13, local farmers will talk about current issues and speak directly to their representatives.
“The Farm-to-Table Caucus was formed … to educate members of the Texas House of Representatives on issues relating to the growing, harvesting and consumption of Texas foods. The bi-partisan Caucus is the first of its kind in the nation and was founded and is chaired by Representative Eddie Rodriguez (D-Austin) and Vice Chaired by Representative Lois Kolkhorst (R-Brenham),” says the caucus’ website.
“The Caucus will primarily and initially focus on issues relating Texas family farms, ranches and coastal fishing operations as well as the distributors and consumers of their goods. Other areas of Caucus participation will include issues relating to food security, childhood obesity and hunger and increasing the availability of locally produced and harvested edible goods to Texas consumers.”
