Josh Ozersky, Esquire’s restaurant critic and one of America’s best food writers, is dead
Sad to share that one of America’s great food writers, Josh Ozersky, who was to co-author John Tesar’s new cookbook and a second book about the 40 year history of American food, died suddenly today in Chicago. A James Beard Award recipient, the founder of Grub Street and Meatopia and Esquire’s restaurant critic, Ozersky had terrific insight, brilliant wit and the sharp pen of a screenwriter. He had recently moved from NYC to Portland but he visited Dallas often because he loved the scene, loved John Tesar (and Knife) and because his in-laws lived here. Very sad. He will absolutely be missed.
