Dallas Central Market selling local honey from their rooftop apiary
Central Market is now selling honey made hyperlocally — the rooftop of their Dallas Lovers Lane store. The Texas based specialty grocer has partnered with Austin-based American Honey Bee Protection Agency on the project, which utilizes eight apiaries on Central Market’s rooftop to house thousands of rescued honeybees.
The Central Market Lovers Lane store bottles the honey and packages the beeswax, utilizing it in products as diverse as teas and lip balm. A four-ounce jar of the honey costs $5.99.
Head up to the CM rooftop on Lovers Lane today from 3-5 pm for a bee meet-and-greet. You can see the hives, meet the local bee keeper and pick up some hyperlocal honey.
