Heard on the Street: New Restaurant Coming From Displaced Tex-Mex King

The buzz from someone with a solid knack for restaurant deals says keep your eyes on the old TomTom Asian Grill space in West Village.

Seems a well-known Dallas restaurateur — whose name rhymes with Rico Modriguez — is planning to step out with a new concept called Pinky Chan’s.

Yep, it’s gonna be inexpensive Chinese. (Plenty of rice, no beans.)

Deep Throat says Pinky Chan’s will open “this fall” and will serve “lots and lots of spring rolls.”

Really, Rico?
