Big Time Dallas Steakhouse Throwing Big Italian and French Truffle Dinner on Friday
Back in the day (and yes, there was a day), downtown Dallas’ premier steakhouse was the Palm, a New York interloper that served prime beef and big Napa wines. That’s where everybody went to close big business deals, hunt for celebrities and shake hands with Al Biernat, the once-iconic GM of the Palm (it’s formal name is Palm Restaurant, but let’s just keep calling it the Palm.)
I rediscovered the Palm Dallas two years ago, a year after chef Terry Cook swept into town and took over the kitchen. He wowed me then with a truffle dinner, and it looks like he’s hoping to wow Dallas again on Friday, December 2, when he throws down another featuring Italian and French truffles from luxury truffle importer Belbosco.
I checked in with him yesterday and learned that he’s opened a few more seats to the party. If you’re into truffles and really skillful cooking, you’d be wise to jump on this like pigs jump on truffles. $120++, including wines and truffles. Reservations: 214-698-0470
