Christmas gifts for that fussy foodie: dinner at Central Market FW’s cooking school

Are you still struggling with a unique Christmas gift for that food fanatic who seems to have everything? Here’s an answer: tickets to a fun dinner event that teams chefs with somms. The dinners take place at Fort Worth’s Central Market throughout the spring, but you can buy tickets now.

Unlike the Dallas Central Market, the Fort Worth specialty grocer knows how to throw a cooking class that feels just like a dinner party. And thanks to some creative chefs, talented somms and cooking school director Sarah Hooton, 2017 promises even more. I’ve attended a few of the recent dinners; they are really fun, really low-key and really delicious.

The cooking school/dinner party season kicks off 2017 on January 11, with a collaborative dinner with chefs Andrew Dilda of Dallas’ Independent Bar & Kitchen and Ben Martin of Fort Worth’s Fixture. Central Market wine director JR Clark will pair the wines. $65, all in.
